S.I.G. Consulting Resources, Inc., is a seasoned Consulting Company serving the needs of Individuals and Business owners. The company was founded in 1981 and built relationships with our insurance and othervendor partners. Our tool box expanded over time as client’s needs became more complex.
Before beginning our work with clients, we ask some basic questions:
What are your goals? What are the immediate issues you face. and what kinds of help do you need? What are the $ money gaps in terms of what you have and what you need? What is your time frame to get this done? What steps do we need to take to help you reach your goals?
SIG Consulting has grown by building a Generation Sensitive Business. Clients come to us for help in solving different levels of problems. Some of those are linked to the Generation group they are a part of. We found that priorities differ widely in: Education, lifestyle (renting v home ownership, where one chooses to live (section of the country), travel, investment and savings preferences. The following is representative of our overall client base:

Individual Clients: We help people maximize their assets and make them currently accessible. We provide the basic Risk Management plans: Life insurance, Disability income, and Age-appropriate health plans. We help clients Increase their cash flow options for current and future use. We help clients find the money they need to finance and achieve financial independence.
Business Owners: We work with these clients to review their business needs. We review their employee demographics and their turnover issues. We discuss the ownership structure, and their succession plans if any. We review current benefit plans and discuss changes that may be required. We discuss the businesses current cash flow situation and how it is financing its needs for growth and expansion (COLI, Retirement plans, and new business acquisitions).

Securities
Entered the Financial Services industry through training at the Securities Training Corporationin New York. Became a Stock Broker and Equities Analyst at two Wall Street member firms (Hayden- Stone & Co. and later Herzfeld & Stern). Had a stock market radio show on WBUS (Miami Beach). During a period of securities industry deregulation, several member firms left the NYSE to go to the Philadelphia – Baltimore – Washington and other exchanges, allowing companies to add insurance services to their firm’s offerings. Stuart followed that trend.
Insurance
Stuart became the national sales leader in life insurance with Protective Life in his first year. The next several years were spent taking advanced courses in Financial, Estate and Retirement Planning. Next came Group and Benefit Planning courses at the International Foundation of Employee Benefits in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This was followed by his obtaining his professional designations of LUTC, RHU, CBC, and IFA. Working in the Group market he acquired new knowledge in International & Domestic Reinsurance working with a Self- Insured Workers compensation Fund (the FCCI) in Sarasota Florida, where he was introduced to two Lloyds of London syndicates. He developed an International Disability program for a Miami Life Insurance company. He worked in the Self-Funding Group marketplace, and established one of the first Employee Leasing companies in Bradenton, Florida., He also worked with several Taft Hartley group programs. His other related activities included: writing articles in trade publications and being a guest speaker at national seminars. He wrote a book about Medical Savings Account plans, and was a frequent guest on the American Healthcare Challenge Radio Show (Radio 1290 KOIL).
Banking
With the knowledge gained in Securities and Insurance, he became the head of the Financial Services Department at a Miami Savings and Loan company Responsibilities included bank products and Insurance products as replacements for maturing CD’s. He also worked with the Treasury Management Department for customer needs. (individuals and business owners).At the time this S&L was in an expansion mode. He visited other S&Ls in Baltimore & Phoenix to observe how they were expanding their Financial Services Divisions. At that time there were 12 Florida based S&L’s that held Grandfathered Insurance licenses. This S&L was one of them.
Recent Work: SIG Developed the Special Markets Division including (1) the Wealth Accumulator System, and (2) the Life Insurance High Risk Center.

Donna Cave-Woods, MBA, CLU

Donna started her early work experience in the areas of administration and management as an employee with the Miami-Dade County government. She held a series of different jobs with increasing responsibilities within several governmental departments - these included: Personnel Technician with the Department of Justice Assistance; being the liaison for open enrollment during benefits selection season; and eventually being hired by the Police Department as a Payroll Technician.
Following those experiences, she decided it was time to go back to school and achieved her BBA degree - dual majoring in Marketing and General Management from Florida International University. Immediately, she was hired as a consultant on the planning team for Miami Ventures/Franchise Development. Her task was to conduct market research on customer preferences for their new start-up restaurant called "Islands Barbeque", as well as take on the task of developing the human resources and training functions for the restaurant.
Shortly after her contract ended with Miami Ventures/Franchise Development, she was hired by the insurance conglomerate Assurant Group as a campaign manager, overseeing the team-based administration of direct marketing mortgage campaigns within the Direct Response Marketing Department. After her employment with Assurant Group, she entered the mortgage industry, where she helped first-time borrowers by originating residential loans for SunTrust Bank and Bank of America.
Additionally, Donna desired to further her knowledge within the financial services industry by obtaining her Florida 2-15 Life, Health, and Variable Annuities license. This credential allowed her to advise individuals, families, and business owners on how to protect themselves in the areas where they required these lines of insurance coverage.
Next, she obtained her MBA in Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University, while actively working in the group insurance marketplace by helping business owners secure their employees' workplace insurance needs as she contracted with Benefits Enrollment firms such as A.J. Gallagher & Company and FBMC. Likewise, Donna has been associated with S.I.G. Consulting Resources, Inc. since 2009.
As a dedicated lifelong learner, Donna has attained the prestigious Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation awarded by the American College of Financial Services. It is an acknowledgment that she has achieved the highest professional status in the life insurance industry. We are pleased to have Donna as our new Vice President!
